Affordable Luxury Candles: Cost Per Hour vs Designer Brands
Luxury candles are priced on the label. Boujie is priced on the burn.
A designer candle typically costs $65 to $80 for a 6.5 to 8 ounce vessel and burns 45 to 60 hours. A Boujie wood wick soy candle is $42 for a 14 ounce vessel and burns up to 50 hours on most scents and 70 to 80 hours on our bestseller. Same clean soy wax, same crackling wood wick, roughly half the price per hour. If you are searching for budget candles that still feel luxurious, the math below is the reason to choose Boujie.

What actually makes a candle "luxury"
The wax. Soy burns cooler and cleaner than paraffin, lasts longer, and is renewable. We use 100% soy with no paraffin blend.
The wick. A wood wick spreads the melt pool evenly across a wide vessel, releases more fragrance, and gives you the soft crackle. It is more expensive to make than a cotton wick, which is why most budget candles skip it.
The fragrance load. Our blends are built for scent throw across a whole room, not just up close. Every scent is tested in a 14 ounce vessel, not scaled down from a sample.
The vessel. Thick, reusable glass that looks right on a shelf after the candle is done.
What you are not paying for: department-store margins, a Paris address on the label, and a box that costs more than the wax.

Frequently asked questions
Are soy candles worth the extra money over paraffin?
Usually yes, because they last longer. A soy candle burns 30 to 50 percent longer than a paraffin candle of the same size, so the per-hour cost is often lower even when the shelf price is higher.
What is the cheapest way to try a luxury candle?
Buy by cost per hour, not by price tag. A $42 candle that burns 70 hours costs less to own than a $28 candle that burns 25 hours. If you want a lower entry price, our car diffuser is $22 in the same scents.
How long does a 14 ounce candle burn?
Between 50 and 80 hours depending on the scent, if you trim the wick and keep burns under 4 hours.
Are Boujie candles non-toxic?
Yes. 100% soy wax, no phthalates, no parabens, vegan and cruelty-free.
